Home

Coconino County is a place I know and love. I grew up in Flagstaff, graduated from Northern Arizona University, and spent my career serving the communities throughout Northern Arizona for 39 years as a peace officer and currently as Coconino County Sheriff. In addition, I served as Coconino County Emergency Manager for seven years and as interim Chief of Police for the City of Sedona.

Education & Honors

I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Flagstaff Leadership Program, International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations, Southwest Command College, and the Executive Leaders Program of the Naval Postgraduate School / Center for Homeland Security. I was honored to be named Citizen of the Year in 2003 by the Arizona Daily Sun.

Safer Communities

Throughout my career, I have promoted and helped develop partnerships, programs & services to create safer communities and provide professional public safety services to our citizens.  As Sheriff, I will continue to build upon those successes and seek opportunities for improvements. I will work to keep our lives and communities safe and create opportunities for youth and adults alike to improve the quality of safety in our communities.

Experience

Jim Driscoll brings valuable knowledge, skills, and abilities in the management and administration of the Sheriff's Office, Coconino County Jail, as a previous Coconino County Emergency Manager, as a Critical Incident Commander, and as a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Leadership

Jim Driscoll has proven leadership skills in the professional development of employees; development of community partnerships; and bridging gaps between local, state, and federal entities.

Community

Jim Driscoll is active personally and professionally in matters that affect community quality of life. He has helped develop programs and services such as Community Policing, a robust Search and Rescue program, CERT, Exodus, Mental Health First Aid for Responders and many more that help create safer communities.
